DCBD #2

I really liked the colour combination in the DCBD Challenge this week so I decided to make another one swapping the colours around to showcase them differently. I also wanted to take some better pictures of my original challenge card, it has been such a beautiful day today and natural light really does do wonders for photo's!!!

I generally like to stick to using the colours of the challenge but decided to go a little outside the boundaries with my second card although not much.....I have just purchased some SU markers and wanted to play so used a little Regal Rose and Old Olive on part of the stamp for the next card.

Well thats it for today I think.......need to get a few more bits sorted for my workshop this week, so hopefully I might have some more cards/projects later in the week.

Take care, thanks for looking

Cased

Hi,
I will learn how to put a link in my post to the blogs where I have cased cards from soon I promise.......its getting time to sit and work it out or getting round to see my upline to get her to teach me as we both work full time and she doesn't often get home till late. So that leads me to this card, which I have cased from another blog........

Still trying to get the hang of using DP on cards and not just altered or 3D projects which is why I have cased this card, although I have changed a few things like the card colour and paper pattern. The colour of the card has not come out right in the photo....it is actually Always Artichoke!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Fresh Cuts
Card: Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Level 1 hostess DP, Always Artichoke ribbon, Scallop border punch, flat back gems, white gel pen

I also managed to get a little project made which again I cased from another site. It is a small covered note book which I had to adapt to fit the size of my note book. The note book is lined as I could not find any small blank note books.....think I need to do a Staples trip for some supplies!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Happy Harmony (Australian SU)
Card: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Old Olive, VersaMark
Accessories: WeR Memory Keepers brads & eyelets, natural twine

Hope you like them.....feel free to leave a comment, thanks for stopping by!

Non Stampin Up

Although I love Stampin' Up products, I also use some other brands as well....particularly at the moment I am drawn to the Laura Ashley range.....anyway, I have been quite busy at work this week and not had much time for crafting or blogging but I did manage to get a couple of cards made so though I would do a quick post to show you.......
This first one is using Laura Ashley Love Song stamps and paper, the sentiment is just a random stamp I picked up in a craft shop. I was struggling to know what to do with the Real Red card and I had just enough to make 2 cards, the colour combo site kept giving me different greens but everytime I put them together I just couldn't help thinking 'Christmas', so this is what I came up with eventually....

The next one is again using a random stamp from a local craft shop...and I think the black, red and white card go really well with the red ink of the stamp, which I love.......

Sorry about the photo's...not great light when I took them!!
Hope you like them

Take care

Late night post.....of the parcel variety!!!

Cooking dinner.....settling down for the evening to watch some tv......there's a knock at the door....who could it be???? The lady that delivers my Stampin Up stuff!!!!!! I had been checking my order status all day, submitted, submitted, submitted....checked again at about 4.30pm and it finally said shipped, so there's me think, ok it will come tomorrow or Friday but what a surprise, it came last night!! Now some of you may find this difficult to believe but I didn't open it until this morning.......I wanted to be able to open it and have all day to play so I left it on the side waiting for me until I got up!

So now that I have forced myself to do some housework its me time now and I am going to go off to play and create.......hope to see you later!

Mothers Day

Well, officially on annual leave now and after our weekend away in Margate I definately need it!! Then again it has not been that relaxing...Spud wont give me a moments peace so it has been difficult to get anything done, although the washing mountain has been tackled...yeah!

So the theme is Mothers Day and the two cards here are for a friend and my mother in law...I would put up the one for my Mum but she is now keeping her eye on my blog so dont want to spoil it by posting hers......and its not finished yet!!!

Stamps: Laura Ashley Love Song, School Book Serif Alphabet

Ink: Night of Navy, Bordering Blue
Card: Cordinations Royal Blue, Tranquil Blue, Whisper White and Laura Ashley DP

This next card is for my mother in law and I cased the lay out from Splitcoast resources site...... I really liked the layout and wanted to try something different, but it was really difficult to photograph due to the sun and light wind but also to try and best capture the stamped image through the punched out image.......

Recipe:
Stamps: Delight in Life (I think)
Ink: Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red
Card: Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Word window punch, 5 petal flower punch.

Hope to get some more cards/projects done this week so fingers crossed will be back with some more posts.

Work, work, work......

Evening everyone.....I have been so busy at work I really have not had time to even look at my craft desk, let alone actually sit and make something!!
We are also away this weekend as it is my birthday so popping back to Kent to see some old friends and catch up.
The silver lining though is that I have next week off as annual leave so will be busy crafting and creating.....and maybe even try and squeeze in some housework if I can be bothered!
I also submitted my very first order as a Demonstrator tonight....all stuff for me as trying to build up more stock. Finding it difficult to arrange a workshop as there is absolutely no room in my tiny little house to host one so working on friends at the moment to get one of them to host one for me...fingers crossed, just want to get one under my belt....and hopefully I will be going to field training in High Wycombe at the end of March to get some tips.

Anyway, hope everyone out there is well, hope you all have a great weekend, stay safe and I will be back soon.

5 petal flower punch

Evening all.....

Well after an absurdly busy day at work I rushed home, finished my other DCBD card and managed to get some photos before the light went!!!!!

I saw this flower over on Dannie's Designs and I really wish I knew how to put a link in to my post but I dont.....something I need to ask of my upline Michelle. Anyway....saw this flower and it came with instructions (got to love them!) and really wanted to try it out......looking at it now its making me really believe that spring and summer are on the way!!! Unlike my poor little window boxes behind the card....dont look, they really need some attention!!

I wanted to use the DCBD colours again as I just really liked the way they went together, but wanted to try them in a different combination with more of the green galore and tempting turqoise showing. The petals are sponged with tempting tuqoise and the darker petals on the outside are done with Brilliant Blue to make them stand out a bit more. I also added a small flower punched from brilliant blue card using the Boho Blossoms punch with a very pale blue brad.

I wasn't really sure about this flower when I first saw it but I think its great and can see me make many more in the future.....although it did take me a litte while to make it, it really isn't that hard at all!!

Thanks for visiting

No Time

Hi everyone,
Sorry not been around for a few days......have been really busy at work and with Spud still only 3 months old, trying to house train her and keep her entertained I haven't had much time for blogging.
I have made another card using the latest DCBD but its not quite finished so I am posting a card I made a while ago using the Chocolate Chip DP on Pretty in Pink cardstock. Not great at using the DP on cards.....I prefer to use them on 3D items or when altering something but I think this turned out ok.........

Hope to finish the other card tomorrow, take some photos and get it posted!! Quick thanks to Mum and Rosemary for their lovely comments xx
